The question of integrating historical sites into urbanity, a view from Cairo with the Tarek Waly Center

The Tarek Waly Center is a strong initiative coming from Egypt, where the issue of historical sites confronted with modern settlements seems as important as providing everyone with basic amenities. It has specific studies on the subject of heritage. But not only.

The center has a triannual publication, the Waly Center Journal, in Arabic and English covering important issues and practical case studies.
It also helped produce a series a books, articles, studies, all available on their website!, on various subjects of urbanism, environmental studies and architecture.

Definitely an important part of this initiative is the wealth of links to various architects, projects and relevant subjects regarding Egypt’s history, Arab and environmental studies and more.

Be sure to take the detour!
